Lighthouse

This is the highest navigation sign of the Baltic Sea coast - it was built in 1854 on the right bank of the Świna River in the now-defunct Osternothafen district. Initially, it had the form of an octagonal tower built of yellow brick with a height of almost 65 meters. As a result of a general renovation in the 20th century, the tower changed its appearance - it became round with an octagonal base. Allied raids during WWII caused serious damage, which was repaired successively. A major renovation at the turn of 1999 and 2000 led to its current appearance and opening to tourists.
